Nail Reconstruction: how it can benefit you

Nail Reconstruction Randells Footcare

Self-confidence plays a pivotal role in the proper care of our feet. The feet are an often-overlooked yet vital part of our body, serving as the foundation for our mobility and overall well-being. Self-confidence means being proactive and attentive to the needs of your feet, from maintaining good hygiene to choosing appropriate footwear and seeking professional help when necessary. It’s the belief in your ability to prioritise your foot health, and empowers individuals to make informed choices and invest time and effort into practices that promote foot health, ensuring a solid foundation for an active and pain-free life.

Self-confidence also arises from enjoying what we see when we look at our feet. Sometimes this image is marred by a damaged or infected nail, which makes us feel we cannot expose our feet, preventing fun at the beach with family and friends, or a trip to the gym or pool to stay healthy. If you have a damaged nail this can cause discomfort by pressing on footwear, and if you have a fungal infection, this can impair the natural barrier mechanism of the skin, putting you at risk of further deterioration and worsening infection.

How can Nail Reconstruction help with self-confidence?

We can help you regain the enjoyment of your feet and build your self-confidence by recreating the nail to look a natural size and shape. The colour is closely matched to your skin tone, or if you prefer, the new nail can be painted with varnish and safely removed even with acetone without damaging the reconstruction.

If you are undertaking a course of anti-fungal treatment, a nail reconstruction is a great way of hiding the nail while treatment takes effect and the healthy nail grows through.

What is involved in a Nail Reconstruction Treatment?

Nail reconstruction is a temporary aesthetic solution to rebuild your self-confidence in your feet. The treatment is conducted in two parts. Your first appointment will involve removing any loose or detached parts of your nail, along with thinning down anything which is thick or protruding. This is to prep the nail ready for reconstruction. As we are only removing detached nail, this is completely comfortable. At the second appointment a week later, the new nail is built using layers of gel, which is cured under a UV lamp. Once set, you can wear shoes and socks immediately without damaging the new nail.

Why choose us for your Nail Reconstruction Treatment?

Randell’s Footcare is a safe choice for nail reconstruction. We are an accredited practice, meaning we maintain the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Our instruments are cleaned and sterilised in accordance with the standards provided by the Royal College of Podiatry and we are regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council. Because we understand health issues on nails, we know that reconstruction can be safely used for a 2 month period before needing removal. This helps prevent hygiene issues where false nails are applied for too long. Our nail reconstruction is a full health care assessment of your feet. A podiatrist is able to assess your nails for anything you may not have noticed – is this a bacterial infection? A fungus? Or just damage? We will be able to diagnose all these things and offer solutions beyond just the aesthetic improvement, to improve the health and function of your feet.

We understand the profound impact that healthy feet can have on your self-confidence. Our nail reconstruction treatment is not just about enhancing the aesthetics of your toenails; it’s about restoring the confidence to step out into with pride. With our expertise and state-of-the-art techniques, we are committed to helping you put your best foot forward, quite literally. Contact us today to schedule your consultation and embark on a journey towards healthier, happier feet and a more confident you.
